Sample Learning Activity Demonstrating the Integration of a Technology Resource
• CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RI.3.4 Determine the meaning of general academic and domain-specific words and phrases in
a text relevant to a grade 3-5 topic or subject area.
• CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RI.3-5.9 Integrate information from several texts on the same topic in order to write or speak
about the subject knowledgeably.
In order to cover the above standards my 3rd class will go on a virtual field trip provided by The Nature Conservancy. The Nature Conservancy not only provide a virtual field trip, but also a detailed lesson plan.

After the virtual field trip, the students will be engaging in Kahoot! game based on academic language learned during the virtual field trip (formative assessment). If students get a Kahoot! question wrong, the teacher will review the correct answer with the whole class before moving on to the next question. The summative assessment would be a multiple choice quiz via Google Forms that students would need to score a 85% or higher on in order to pass.
